Museum - 1 |

The IJzertoren
Memorial & Museum (Yser Tower) is a huge memorial tower along
the Belgian Yser river in Diksmuide. The current tower (84 meter
high) is the second tower at this location. The remains of the
original tower - the Paxpoort or Pax-gate (Gate of Peace) - is still
visible at the site. The first tower was built just after World War
I, but destroyed by sabotage in 1946. The tower contains a museum of
the Belgium history and World War I.
