Czech Rep. - Lidice Memorial - 1 |
|

The Lidice Memorial
is located at the site where the old village of Lidice was located
until 1942, where the village was totally destroyed by the German SS
as retaliation for the killing of the German Deputy Reich-Protector Reinhard Heydrich.
All of the men from Lidice were killed at the site. The women and
children were transported to German concentration camps and
slave factories. Most of the were later killed by the Germans. Today the
few remains of the old village has been made into memorial and a new
village of Lidice has been build next to the old village.
