Denmark - Kastellet - The Citadel - 1 |
|

The "Kastellet" (the Citadel in English) has built in 1662 as
a part of the fortification to protect Copenhagen. Since then it has
housed the military headquarter for the Danish forces - and parts of
the area is still being used for this purpose. But most of the area
is today open to the public. It is a very popular and green
recreational area in the centre of Copenhagen.
