The
Bretteville-sur-Laize Canadian War Cemetery is located
near the small town of
Cintheaux
- and it is one of the major D-day cemeteries. At this cemetery
there are 2.873 graves. For the most part, those
buried here died during the capture of Caen and the Canadian/Polish
thrust southwards to close the Falaise Gap.
