Germany - Berlin Wall Memorial

The Berlin Wall Memorial is located at small section of the
huge wall that kept the eastern and western part of Berlin separated
from 1961 to 1989. The wall is actually more than just a wall -
there are often two walls with a "death zone" in between. Along the
wall there were numerous guard towers. Several people were killed
trying to escape from the East to the West. The wall is one of the
most well-known monuments of the "Cold War".
